§ 14-48. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except when the context clearly indicates a different meaning.

    Junk farm apparatus means tractors and other farm machinery or equipment which are not in usable condition or which lack any necessary parts to be operable and serviceable.

    Junk motor vehicle means any motor vehicle which is unable to be driven upon a public street under its own power, or which lacks any of the necessary component parts, or which lacks any necessary licensing or registration, to make it operable and serviceable as a motor vehicle.

    Junk trailer body means any boat trailer, utility trailer, horse or animal trailer, truck trailer, travel trailer or any type of trailer or device used for hauling or moving things which is not in usable condition or which lacks any of the necessary component parts, or which lacks any necessary licensing or registration, to make it operable and serviceable as a trailer to be pulled as such on a public street.

    Junk water craft means boats and any other objects intended to convey people or property upon water which are not in usable condition or which lack any necessary parts or any necessary licensing or registration to be operable and serviceable.

    Unwholesome substance means any trash; garbage; tin can; junk motor vehicle; junk water craft; junk trailer body; junk farm apparatus; stone; parts of machinery, motor vehicles, farm apparatus, or water craft; unused stoves or other appliances; junk; offal; refuse; rubbish; debris; filth; or any other material which constitutes a threat or menace to the health, safety, or general welfare of the public.
